The 8 Pathways ~ Bagua Map
The Feng Shui Bagua Map is a reflection of our inner and outer worlds. This guide has been used for centuries to help to discover where we lose our positively charged life force. It is divided into eight areas surrounding a grounded centre section.
We refer to this map as The 8 Pathways, as each route is a connection to an aspect of our physical, mental, emotional or spiritual existence. All of which are essential to achieving BALANCE in our lives. We've organized the Feng SHe website according to it's eight distinct yet interconnect areas.
When we lay the Fibonacci Spiral on top of the 8 Pathways Map, the Feng SHe Path to BEing is immediately evident.
The Pathways & Their Meanings
Beginning in the lower left corner and following each of the 8 Pathways to our Grounded Centre.
1. EDUCATION ~ KNOWLEDGE ~ SELF-CULTIVATION
This area reflects how we feel about ourselves as well as what we do with our lives. It's about knowing or finding out who you are...and what you really love to do.
It includes: Self improvement ~ Learning of New Skills ~ Nurturing Abilities ~ Studying ~ Teaching ~ Training Guidance ~ Preparation ~ Contemplation ~ Meditation ~ Listening for Wisdom ~ Personal Enlightenment
The attribute for this pathway is STILLNESS.
2. HEALTH ~ FAMILY
This area is about maintaining good personal health and fitness, as well as healing & maintaining healthy relationships with family members and with mother nature and caring for our natural environment.
It includes: Nutrition ~ Fitness ~ Physical, Mental, Emotional Wel-being ~ Athletics ~ Sports ~ Vitality ~ Pet & Animal Health & Well-being ~ Behaviour ~ Environmental Awareness ~ Weather ~ World Disasters ~ Ecology ~ Mother Earth ~ Natural Occurrences

This area is about the appreciation of the abundance & prosperity we were born with ~ rich in friends, love, etc. It reflects how we feel about our own wealth and how we perceive wealth in general.
It includes: Accumulation of Money ~ Resources ~ Good fortune ~ Personal Satisfaction ~ Financial Wel-being ~ Altruism ~ Sharing
The attribute for this pathway is PERSISTENCE.
4. FAME ~ REPUTATION
This area is about how we want the rest of the world to perceive us. It acts as a mirror ~ a reflection of how we want to be.
It includes: Self Esteem ~ Respectability ~ Good Standing ~ Honour ~ Influence ~ Pride ~ Accomplishments ~ Celebrity ~ Famous Places ~ Personal Character ~ Popularity ~ Notoriety
The attribute for this pathway is INTEGRITY.
5. RELATIONSHIPS ~ LOVE ~ MARRIAGE
This area is first about love of self because if we don't love ourselves we have nothing to give to others. It's about the love of a partner & love of friends, as well as the building of relationships with people we may not like very much.
It includes: Friends, Lovers, Business, Neighbourhood & any Non-Family Relationships ~ Alliances ~ Understanding ~ Communicating ~ Intimacy ~ Infidelity ~ Bullying ~ Deception ~ Allies ~ Enemies ~ War
The attribute for this pathway is RECEPTIVITY.
6. CREATIVITY ~ CHILDREN
This area is about creation of any kind: interesting projects or creating something new. It's about, children, having children, fun & remembering the whimsy that goes with childlike feelings.
